Surely this must be one of the favourite areas of cleaning. What is there not to like? Strange smells, stains, for some reason the floor is sticky...oh, you say to yourself as you realise why the floor is sticky!!!
But don't despair. With a few minutes, a pair of strong rubble gloves and some optional breathing apparatus, you will have the toilet and bowl shining and glowing in no time.
First things first. You don't need to worry about all those harsh chemicals to get the toilet looking good. No sir re!!! Lets look at some of the basic equipment.
A good toilet brush
Some Baking soda
Milton
A cloth (make sure you only use it for the toilet)
Some orange juice, coke or vitamin C
If it is really bad you can resort to Jiff.
The process
We here, really love Milton, while it is Chlorine based it is stabilised and has been used for the last 40 years to sterilise bottles for babies - I think it has proven it is safe to use.
Using a spray bottle, spray diluted milton (a capful per bottle is enough) on the lid of the toilet and on the seat. Let it sit for a minute then whip it off.
To clean the bowl, through some orange juice or coke in the bottle - this reduces the stains and helps with controlling odors. Use the brush and swirl around.
Still not clean? Gee, when was the last time you cleaned your toilet!!! Resort to the Military style Jiff. That will teach those stains.
Conclusion
All in all, the toilet is really only a five minute job. Do it once or twice a week, and she will be looking good as new!!!
